What does the name
Not Soap, Radio mean?

ABOUT US
The name, Not Soap, Radio, comes from the punch line of a nonsense joke my friends and I used to tell each other when we were younger.
The joke went like this:
There are two polar bears taking a bath. One polar bear says to the other, "Please pass the soap." The other bear turns to him and says, "Not Soap, Radio."
And everyone in on the joke laughs hysterically. It was our secret language.
We knew things.
My sister Suzanne and I founded Provide, Provide LLC in November 2000. We wanted a small project that we could work on together, something we could do while we were working on other things. The "little project" got bigger and bigger, we had so many ideas; there were so many dream items we wanted to create.
And will. So, here we are.
Happily, this is our life now
.
Our Product Inspiration:
For almost ten years,
Laura Cabot has traveled across the country, working in fashion, beauty, entertainment and politics as a publicist, consultant and writer. She began her career at Sotheby’s London and in the public relations department of Vogue. She holds a BA in art history from the University of Pennsylvania.

Our mother used to put us in the tub together and after I’d liberate my sister from her safety-seat (I actually taught her to swim in the bathtub), we would spend the time creating bath oils and gels out of soaps, Crazy Foam, water, and markers—don’t ask. We would bottle our concoctions and sell them like other children sold lemonade.

Between the two of us we have lived/worked, in fashion, entertain-ment and politics, in the following cities: New York, LA Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Memphis, London, Florence, Moscow…We were constantly moving and all our skin care products and cosmetics would be thrown out, lost, broken…We created a line that would travel extremely well. Many of our up-coming items will be one-dose, disposable, and/or multi-use. We are in the process of combining products in never-before-marketed ways.
Suzanne Cabot graduated from Ohio State with a BA in English and for the past six years has worked in fashion and with non-profit organizations.

"Provide, Provide"
The witch that came (that withered hag)
To wash the steps with pail and rag
Was once the beauty Abishag,
The picture pride of Hollywood.
Too many fall from great and good
For you to doubt the likelihood.
Die early and avoid the fate.
Or if predestined to die late,
Make up your mind to die in state.
Make the whole stock exchange your own!
If need be occupy a throne,
Where nobody can call you crone.
Some have relied on what they knew,
Others on being simply true.
What worked for them might work for you.
No memory of having starred
Atones for later disregard
Or keeps the end from being hard.
Better to go down dignified
With boughten friendship by your side
Then none at all. Provide, provide!
